Protecting the Forests and People of the Upper Amazon
Empowered Indigenous Tribes
We partner with Indigenous communities and their federations to promote sustainable and profitable livelihoods and strengthen stewardship of their lands and adjacent protected areas. We pride ourselves on the time spent in the most remote and dangerous parts of the Amazon headwaters, working to protect the forests and way of life of the settled and isolated indigenous tribes who live there.

Partnership Promotes Indigenous Handicrafts
UAC has established a new partnership with the Cusco based organization, Xapiri Ground, and communities of the Yurua River region to promote artwork and handicrafts. The new collaboration is among our efforts to generate new income for the communities, in this case through the sale of local products among communities representing six ethnicities. The work began with a visit to several communities during the month of September.
