UAC’s Chris Fagan published in National Geographic

October 2018: National Geographic’s October cover story explores threats to isolated indigenous tribes in the Peruvian Amazon. The Peru part was written by UAC’s director Chris Fagan.

The Brazil section was written by Scott Wallace and explores threats to the Awá tribe of eastern Brazil. The Peru part looks at the state of isolated tribes and those in initial contact in the Amazon headwaters of southeastern Peru. It was written by UAC’s founder and director, Chris Fagan, and is based on his experiences working to protect the forests and indigenous tribes of the greater Alto Purús region.
